i like wild animals. tiger, elephant, panda, polar bear, koala and dolphin! they are so lovely! there are so many animals live in the wild! i like them!but many wild animals are facing the danger of e_tinction. for e_ample, with the development of cities, their living areas have become narrower and narrower. many of the wild animals, now are confronted with food crisis. at the same time, man is killing them just for getting their fur, skin, teeth and meat.
protect them, protect our resources of ecology too. all of us should realize that the loss of any species is the loss of ourself. killing wild animals certain is prohibited. we should say “no!”to leather clothing. we should say “no!” to eat them. we should set up many national parks as wild life. let them live there, happy and safe.
wild animals and us are member of the planet!
“l(fā)ife is just a series of trying to make up your mind.” making a choice means something is kept while something is eliminated. but as a great many development of the international community usher in a new world, which is, parado_ically, more culturally diverse and globalized, i begin to wonder
if we must make a choice,
if things are only black and white,
if there’s a win-win coe_istence of diversity rather than just the cruel “survival-of-the-fittest” elimination that results in a world of monotonous unity.
my hometown is dalian, and my university is in shenyang. the changes that are taking place in both cosmopolitans are breathtaking. international conglomerates, bmw, g.e. are hiring the finest of the younger generation, while starbucks, haagen-dazs, and mcdonald’s are competing aggressively with local brands. as we immerse ourselves so happily in the international convenience, traditional brands and ways of life are withering in the jungle law of the commercial society. one lifestyle and another lifestyle does not always mean two lifestyles will simultaneously survive.
when foreigners come to china and see the same image of streets as in their own country, they feel more baffled than e_cited. yes, globalization brings international consumer goods and services, yet, such convenience shouldn’t be at the price of losing the chinese ingredient in the recipe of global diversity. and when starbucks opened a shop in the forbidden city in beijing, the emperor turned over in his grave.
it is, without a shadow of a doubt, the job of the younger generation to make sure things will only be better off for china and the world. with a leap of faith, i came to a decision half a year ago. so, i set my mind on overseas education. such a decision was not to pursue a blind pilgrimage of western culture, but to provide my self a new perspective, a catalyst for personal growth as i integrate wisdom and e_perience of both worlds to become truly international. as i celebrate chinese culture with the rest of the world, one education and one education trigger development that can’t be measured with a number, two.
the world is evolving. the only thing not changing is change itself. yet however fast the world changes, the essence remains the same. it is our responsibility, no, our obligation as young people, (which ever country we’re from,) to make sure that when worlds come together, our respective characteristics are kept while new traditions are formed in the process. hand in hand, i’m more than confident that we can offer future generations a world of unprecedented harmony and diversity.

由于如馨學(xué)習(xí)刻苦努力以及在語言方面所取得的進步,學(xué)校多次給她頒發(fā)證書,比如, “outstanding effort in english”, “working really hard on reading”, “being very quick at maths” 等等。
my sweet home
hi, everyone, my name is jia ru_in. i am from shijiazhuang and in grade 5. today my topic is “ my sweet home”.
there is an old saying “east and west, home is best.” so, we can see how important home is to everybody. i’ve got a sweet home because it is cozy. my family lives in a flat. the sitting room is the biggest and my room is the smallest, but it is a world of my own. the wall is white, the curtain is pretty, the bed is comfortable and the bookshelf is filled with different kinds of books. in the right hand corner is the zheng, a traditional chinese musical instrument, and on the table is the computer. when i feel tired, i can play computer games; and when i feel depressed, playing the zheng can cheer me up. this is my sweet home, where i can find peace and comfort.
i’ve got a sweet home because it is full of love. my dad loves me. he is kind and patient. it is my dad who watches outlook english magazine with me; it is also my dad who is ready to answer my questions. my mom loves me, too. she is considerate and hardworking. every day when i go home from school, the rooms are always clean and tidy. every time when i play out and forget dinnertime, it is also my mom who calls me back with her tender voice, “come home, my little darling, dinner is ready”.
this is my home, my sweet home.
ladies and gentlemen:
“if i could reach higher, just for one moment to touch the sky…”---this is from my favorite song reach.
when we are appreciating the passionate melody of gloria estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. in the year 1990, this cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. but gloria did not give up and kept up constant e_ercising. just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the atlanta olympics.
whenever i think of gloria, i can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when i first entered university. naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly duckling, i seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. and the successive failures in the beginning led me into despair. “am i destined to take the back seat to others?” unwilling to submit to the fate, i paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film dubbing, recital, drama… cause i just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. constant effort yields sure success. thanks to the competition, i received some awards and most of all, i gained the courage and confidence to face any difficulties in my life journey.
life is just like farming, and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication. once you have a dream, don’t be hesitant. your ne_t difficult step may be the one to the top. keep going forward, even in the toughest time, and never give up.
thank you very much.
youth and faith

imagine a car without a steering wheel. tough to imagine, right? well, actually that’s the image you see if a person has no faith. faith helps to guide us in our lives, encourage us to persist, and give directions when we are lost.
in this peaceful era, our life paths seem to be already well-planned and determined. what we have to do is to follow. yes, we may face different sorts of challenges, but at least they are less harsh when compared to those in the past. we do not need to worry about starving to death, or how to earn enough money to buy food for our siblings and sustain our lives.
it is like driving from a muddy road into a highway. in the muddy road, path, you would say, as it is formed only by crossing on it many times, flattening the ground to form a smoother area so we can pass. the road is so bumpy and rough, with holes here and there and rocks lying all over. when we drive along this road, we have to be very careful, having a firm grip on the steering wheel, ready for a sudden turn or a large boulder that may appear any second. however, when we drive on a highway, everything becomes different. the road is smooth, straight, and visible. since there is no unseen obstacle, we may lower our guard, rela_ a bit, and loosen our grip on the steering wheel. one may even think, if we only have to drive on a smooth straight road like this highway, why would we need a steering wheel?
green-colored sunshine shining though soft leaves, all the green days in the growth rings’ telling legend to the future and the past. these green hopes in the olympic rings are just like warm hugs and brilliant haloes under the blue sky of beijing. as the 29th olympic game which is held in beijing is coming up soon, every citizen in our city is a messenger of green olympic, we love our city and care more and more about our environment. in those lovely smiling face, i’m touched deeply for all the efforts we make. i can see the grassland is greener; the blue sky is beautiful and clean, and every little tree is growing happily in warm and gentle breeze. this is my hometown, this is beautiful beijing, and there place the green olympic hopes on.
thinking about a few years ago, when i saw the ta_onomic dustbin in our community for the first time, the green olympic made no difference in my mind. i just regarded it as an interesting way to sort garbage. but when a few days later i raised my hands high up and was eager to be a member of 'the communist youth league’s epd group', i told myself firmly, 'it’s a great way to make contribution to the 2008’s beijing.' maybe this is why i have that much passion on this great action. in the following months, we have activities such as picking up all the plastic things which are surrounded our school together with our teacher. we were all very e_cited about this meaningful thing. we also set up special dustbins for used batteries, so that we can both pollute less and recycle more. when seeing all the plastics and the batteries were carried on the truck which was going to the recycle factory to handle these things, we were all very happy about it. everyone forgot all the hardness. to let the dream of' green beijing' come true, all of us should give a hand. 'i’ve do something great for you beijing,' what a great sentence!
and at the same time, the actions of protecting the environment are going on, too. my father changed all the taps in my family into saving-water ones, and all the water we use are recycled for at least 2 or 3 times. i always can hear this ad on cri, it says, '5 million children died each year, just for the drinking water.' so, help us to make the world safer. although my actions are rather small, but i think with all of you guys help, there will be a strong power.
the color green gives the olympic game a deeper meaning, green is in flowers, grasslands and in trees; green is in the sky, in the earth and in the sunshine. but to my opinion, green’s also in our minds, in our smiles and in the great love.
once in an activity which was to plant trees for the community, every planter got a card to hang out on the tree with writing a few meaningful words. do you know i have written what? that is:
'happy growing!'
'happy growing!' to every little tree in our green dreams.
'happy growing!' to the changing beijing!
'happy growing!' to the green olympics bud in every citizen’s heart! it’ll turn out sweet 3 years later in 2008!

good afternoon, dear judges. today my speech is “i love black-faced spoonbill.
on a beautiful winter day, i happened to meet the lovely spirit------
black faced spoonbill, a type of migratory bird, which spends winter at hong-shu-lin in my city every year. covered with snow-white feathers, it has black legs and a black beak. besides the blacks and whites, an amazing splash of yellow is under its neck. so elegant that i couldn’t help loving it at first sight.
with a big and spoon-shaped beak, it can clasp fishes easily, which makes it a powerful hunter in birds.
however, with human e_pansion and pollution, only around 20__ ones are living all over the world.
like the eleven swan princes in andersen’s fairy tale, the black faced spoonbills have always been struggling to find a tiny rock which can offer them a momentary tranquility. fortunately, they have found one in my beloved home. i would always hold them dearly to my heart and wish they would return with flocks of chicks in the following years, and singing……
oh, i have a home, such a beautiful home, where i play and rest happily.
oh, give them a home, such a wonderful home, where the spoonbills play all day.
thank you very much.
good morning, my dear teachers
what is friendship? the answers may be different. but one thing is clear that friendship is the most important ingredient in the recipe of life. we cannot live without friendship just as we cannot survive without air and water. friendship gives us a feeling of security and warmth, and friendship encourages us to go ahead all the time.
everyone needs friends and is eager to get friendship. when we feel happy, we can share our happiness with friends. when we feel gloomy, friends will comfort us. if we are arrogant, our friends can persuade us, and they can make us confident and brave when we are discouraged.
friendship is valuable. it can touch your heart and give you hope. many people are proud of having a good friend. true friendship must be sincere and must not have conditions. if you help your friends for no reason but simply because they are your friends, this means that you regard your friends as yourself. this is true friends.
true friendship should be based on mutual understanding, not on mutual benefit. moreover, both must also have similar ideals. if not, their friendship still cannot last long. sometimes, people have good friends when they are young and studying in school. however, after graduation, when they are working in the society, their friendship will soon come to an end.
mutual understanding doesn’t always mean that we should know every thing of our friends. it means that they have similar ideals and trust each other. on the other hand, doing similar things can build up the friendship.
in fact, friendship isn’t always easily kept. when you want to keep a friend, you should treat him or her like you want to be treated. keep the secrets that your friend tells you. keep your promise with your friend. share things with your friend. stick up for your friend. we should try our best to protect the friendship from being hurt. as an old saying goes, “friendship cannot stand always on one side.” true friendship should be able to stand all kinds of tests.
because of friendship, our lives are full of happiness. therefore, the more friends we have, the more pleasure we can share with them. let’s say “thank you” to our friends for their love and care. no matter where we go or who we become, never forget to keep the beautiful friendship!
dear teachers:
i’m very glad to say something here. today, my topic is -----i wish.
every person has many beautiful dreams, so do i.
i wish that i have a good friend who has magic power like多啦a夢. he could give me anything which i want, such as maliang’s paintbrush.
i wish i could use it to help others. such as i could draw the coats for the poor men when it’s cold, i could draw the food for them when they’re hungry, and i could draw a house for them, too.
i wish that my dream will come true someday.
thank you.
